Ex-fighter pilot Ted Striker (Robert Hays) became traumatized after an incident during the war "(proposed in the Second World War, but never explicitly), leading to his fear of flying and his drinking problem "(implying alcoholism, but more specifically the" problem "refers to the fact that he lacks the mouth every time). As the aircraft gets closer to Chicago, the attacker becomes more and more stressed and can not land the plane after a pep talk from Dr Rumack. With Kramer steady stream of advice, the attacker is able to overcome his fears and land safely on the plane with minor injuries to some passengers. Attacking the courage of love revives Elaine for him, and the two share a kiss while Otto takes off in the plane evacuated after a swell companion.
